Feliz nuevo año!

Yes, I am back in Spain and enjoying the rest of my time here. It was really funny to come back and have forgotten nearly every word in spanish, but it's coming back.

my friends My first night I spent a the house of Irene's parents. The father picked my up from the airport and made dinner for my. !What a service! The next day I came to Pamplona and spent nearly the whole day in bed, because I was really exhausted. But Irene wanted to go out and so we spend a funny night in Pamplona's clubs. I danced until 3 o'clock and then returned to my flat. The next day I realy had a problem to wake up and go to my volleyball-match. We left Pamplona at 9.30 h and I was tired to death. I was the only member who went out the night before but we all played como Zombies and so we lost the match. Our coach was a bit angry and did not talk to us during the whole way back home. At 4.00 h I was at home and at 4.05 h in my bed again. At Monday I had my first day at the university and the first people were already leaving Pamplona to go home to their universities. January and February are only to say goodbye to everybody and because of this, this time will be very sad. But I want to enjoy my time here with the people who are still here.

What is the thing I like most and know best?

Right, it´s cinema and movies. That is why I will present you some of the best pages for movies and for one of my favourit films “The lord of the rings”.

First I will give you three examples of spanish pages. But no panic only-german-and-english-speaking-folks, at the second part are three german examples following.
The first one is of course the oficial hompage . Here you can find everything concearning the movies, the making-off and the characters. It is also very useful for learning the spanish names of the figures. The second one is more about the book and the life in middlearth. You can find backround stories and songs, poems and lyrics. The last spanish page deals more with the actors of the film and there carreer. So if you like to know where you can see “Aragorn” in tidy clothes, search here.

Here comes the promised german part: Of course there are a lot of pages about this film, but I think I have found the best ones. At "Herr-der-Ringe.de" you can find nearly everything: news, the film, fans, chats. "Tolkiens Welt" deals more with the book. This side pretends that it is written by elbs and you can get more information about living in middleearth.
The last german page gives you the oportunity to get a historical and geographical view of middleearth. Nearly every question about the fantasy-trilogy could be answered here. For example: “Who was Gollum before he found the ring?” Or “Why is Saruman fighting Gandalf?”.

But if you like to know more about cine generally, here is a directory which provides the access to nearly every information. Of course there are as well other searching posibilities. At Buscacine and Terra you can find a lot about movies and actors. But my favorite is this. Here you can find all what you want about Hollywood and Co. Of course as well about the european Cinema but normaly not that extentive.

Yeah I love cinema but I am not the only one and to proof that here are three blogs which handle movies as well. Tolkiendil is about “The lord of the rings” and about other films and books the auther likes. “Cinefagia compulsiva” and “cámara…y…acción!!” are more about the general interest in films and movies.

So that´s my little help for you and maybe I won´t win all the purple questions the next time we play “Trivial pursuit”.
But this category ES MIYO!!!

Hello again,

here is a bit more of my spanish life. At the last weekend I journeyed to the northern coast of Spain. Together with nine other people we rented two cars and visited cute, little villages and the "Cuervas de Altamira". Our first stop was Santanilla de mar, a wonderful romantic village with cute streets and houses. After a huge picnic in a little park, where a lot of dogs joined us, we visited the cave of Altamira. Then we returned to Santanilla de mar, visited the rest of the town and found a place to stay for the night. But before we went to sleep we made for Comillas and there we had a wonderful view over a nice little bay with a rough see. It was realy windy and rained a bit, but it was incredible. After a long dinner in an restaurant (the food was not very good but we had a lot of fun) we returned to our Pension. At three o´clock in the morning we went to sleep, after many bottles of wine and a lot of UNO-games.
The next day was horrible weather, cold windy and rainy, and we went to Santander. The coast again was wonderful but the town itself was a bit borring. Luckely we found a fleemarket where I bought two spanish books and together with Anja two videos in spanish.
After alittle stop in a bar to return a bit of warmth in our toes we made for little villages in the direction of Bilbao. We saw again amazing bays and high waves. At ten o´clock we were back in Pamplona an completely tired.

Ted Nelson

Ted Nelson is some kind of a rebel against all computer odds. He is fighting for a better digital world and for more power belonging to the users.
The story starts 1937 in Greenwich Village where Theodor Holm Nelson was born. He studied Philosophy (BA) in Swathmoreand and Sociology in Harvard (Master). During his stay in Harvard he took a course in computer programming using an IBM 7090 computer, and began to think about writing a document management system to index and organise his collection of notes. This is more or less where his odyssey starts. (More information at his own page). He began to create a vision about the system of personal computers. His idea was, that working with PCs should be beyond paper. Computers should not be a better typewriting-machine but give the user the possibility to create his own PC for his own needs.
For more information see the Xanadu Vision and the model of Xanadu .
But his vision, later named Xanadu, never became reality, there were a lot of prototypes but no final version. Nonetheless, its intellectual presence has exerted an enormous force on the evolution of hypertext systems. Few researchers would deny the influence of his ideas.
But other systems (Macintosh and Microsoft) took the leadership over the computers.
Ted Nelson know is fighting against this systems because only a small group of people mostly the developing people at this firms know completely how to use it. And the user is addicted to these firms because they only can use not control their computers. Everybody who had experienced a crash of the windows system and I think there is no user who did not, knows how helpless he was.
But Nelson wants more. He really wants a computer beyond paper, an Internet that is more interactive and re-visible uses. Ted Nelson’s opinion and why Microsoft and Macintosh are dealing with the devil you can find in his article "Way out of the box".
But in every story there is another side. An article at wired.com shows Ted Nelson as a lonely man with unrealistic visions. And at ibiblio.org they even go further and pretend that he is just ill in his mind caused by the Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and his lonely childhood (Internet pioneers).
Mi opinion is, that Ted Nelsons vision is a bit unrealistic but we need people who think a bit further and fight for their ideas, because otherwise we would miss the posibility to change the system and make it a bit better.
